Milwaukee is -172 to win the World Series and Tampa Bay is +148, per the odds-at-a-glance box on FanDuel Research. That is about 63 percent for the Brewers and 40 percent for the Rays before Game 1 on Friday, Oct. 23 at American Family Field. Whoever wins, MLB gets a first-time champion. ESPN notes it is the first Series between two teams seeking their first title since 1980, and could be the first to be played totally indoors.

World Series 2026 Odds: Series Price and Game 1

Per FanDuel Research, the same page carries two sets of series prices that do not match each other. The at-a-glance box shows Brewers -172 and Rays +148. The full futures table on the same page shows Brewers -182 and Rays +156. Shop for the number that is live when you bet, because the gap is worth about 1.3 points of implied probability.

Prediction markets agree on the shape. Action Network reported on Oct. 21 that Polymarket had the Brewers at 62.2 percent and Kalshi at 62.1 percent, with the Rays at 37.6 and 38 percent. Kalshi's price path tells the story of the bracket: Milwaukee was around 9 percent in August, 17 percent entering the Division Series, 24 percent before the Championship Series and now sits near 62.

For Game 1, per FanDuel Research, the moneyline is Brewers -196 and Rays +164, with a total of 6.5 runs. That puts Milwaukee near 66 percent in the opener. Jacob Misiorowski starts for the Brewers, and Nick Martinez starts for the Rays, per ESPN.

Implied Probability and the Hold

Brewers -172: 63.2 percent. Rays +148: 40.3 percent. The pair totals 103.6 percent.

Brewers -182: 64.5 percent. Rays +156: 39.1 percent. The pair totals 103.6 percent.

Game 1 moneyline, Brewers -196: 66.2 percent. Rays +164: 37.9 percent. Together 104.1 percent.

The vig is modest on a two-way market, so the series price is the cleanest number on the board.

What the Market Is Pricing In

The Brewers' 103-59 record was the best in the majors and gives the Brewers home-field advantage, per Action Network. They swept the Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS for their first World Series trip since 1982. Tampa Bay beat the Guardians in six games, closing with a 7-3 win, for its first trip since 2020. Freddy Peralta was ALCS MVP.

ESPN's AP preview adds two angles. The Brewers will have had seven days off before Game 1. Teams with less rest are 15-15 in the Series since the Wild Card era began in 1995, but 12-4 since 2009.

The other is Misiorowski. He threw 1,115 pitches of 100 mph or faster this season, against a previous high of 673 since tracking began in 2008. He did not finish the fifth inning in either of his first two postseason starts. Manager Pat Murphy said, "He hasn't been as crisp."

World Series MVP and Exact-Games Prices

Per FanDuel Research, the World Series MVP prices are:

William Contreras +700, Jackson Chourio +700

Jake Bauers +750

Junior Caminero +850

Yandy Diaz +950, Brice Turang +950

Jacob Misiorowski +1100

Jonathan Aranda +1200

Drew Rasmussen, Garrett Mitchell, Christian Yelich +2000

Freddy Peralta +3500

The exact-games market is more informative about how the book sees the series. Exactly four games is +520 (16.1 percent), five games +250 (28.6 percent), six games +205 (32.8 percent) and seven games +225 (30.8 percent). Six games is the single most likely outcome by price, and the four prices total 108.3 percent, so the hold here is much heavier than on the series line.

Why This Series Looks Different

Both clubs sit in the bottom half of payrolls, the first time that has happened in a World Series since 1991: the Brewers were 19th as of Aug. 31 and the Rays 25th, per ESPN. Milwaukee scored a major league-low 32.1 percent of its runs on homers, and Tampa Bay was second-lowest at 34.4 percent, according to Elias. Rays batters had the fewest strikeouts of the 30 teams.

This is also the first Series with robot umpires. Batters have won 40 of 63 challenges in the postseason, a 63 percent success rate, according to ESPN. Bettors may want to factor that into strikeout and walk props.

Schedule

Games 1 and 2 are Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24 in Milwaukee. Games 3 and 4 are Monday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 27 in Tampa Bay. Games 5, 6 and 7 are played only if necessary: Game 5 is Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Games 6 and 7 are Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31 back in Milwaukee. Every game starts at 8 p.m. ET and Action Network lists FOX as the broadcaster for all of them.
