Atlanta covers 54 percent of their road games and they have the clear advantage in every statistical category that matters tonight. It is rare to get a pitcher like Sale against a bottom five offense at this price.

Miami is in the middle of a total collapse and the betting market hasn't fully adjusted to how bad this offense looks. The Marlins have lost ten games in a row. You read that right. They are 0 and 10 in their last ten outings. While Sandy Alcantara is on the mound with a 4.01 ERA, he is getting zero help from a lineup that is league average at best. On the other side, Aaron Nola has been a disaster lately for the Philadelphia Phillies. His 5.82 ERA is ugly and his recent 6.62 mark is even worse. But here is the thing: Miami is so cold they might not even be able to take advantage of Nola's struggles. The model is leaning toward Philadelphia +1.5 on the spread but the real play is the under 8. Both of these teams are 4 and 6 in their last ten games. The Phillies cover the spread only 37 percent of the time on the road which is a terrifying stat for anyone looking to lay juice on them. Miami actually plays better at home where they cover 51 percent of the time. But with the way these two offenses are trending, getting eight runs seems like a tall order. The model puts the projected total at 7.6 which gives us a solid edge. Expect a low scoring grind where both teams struggle to find any rhythm at the plate.

Toronto is scoring only 3.9 runs per game which is not going to get it done against a Washington team that is firing on all cylinders. The Nationals are 6 and 4 in their last ten games and they are playing with a lot of confidence at home. Toronto has lost seven of their last ten and they look like a team ready for the season to end. The model sees a 7.3 percent edge on Washington -1.5 and it is hard to argue with that. The Nationals score more, allow fewer runs, and have the better starting pitcher on the mound. And they are at home where they cover half their games. This should be a comfortable win for the home team.
