They are ranked 2nd in the league and allow only 2.8 runs per game. That is an elite number that makes it very hard for a struggling Cardinals offense to keep pace. St. Louis scores 4.3 runs and allows 4.3 runs, basically playing break even baseball while the Yankees are plus 1.8 in run differential per game. The model sees a 7 percent edge on the Yankees covering the 1.5 run spread. New York is 6 and 4 in their last 10 and they are playing at home where they are always dangerous.
