What Changed Versus 2026

The BMW PGA Championship goes after the Ryder Cup. Sky Sports reported the Wentworth flagship is pushed back to Sept. 23 to 26, a week later than its usual spot in the second week of the month. The tour's announcement calls it the third Rolex Series event of 2027, after Dubai and the Scottish Open.

The Irish Open jumps to July. The Amgen Irish Open was played in the first week of September in 2026, per Sky Sports. In 2027 it moves to July 1 to 4 at The K Club, which creates three straight weeks of Irish Open, Scottish Open and The Open at St Andrews.

Three historic events return. How the Calendar Shapes Ryder Cup Qualification

Ryder Cup Europe confirmed on Aug. 4, 2026 that qualifying began at the 2026 British Masters and ends on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2027. On the new schedule, that is the final round of the 2027 British Masters at The Belfry.

The leading six players on the Ryder Cup Points list qualify automatically. Donald then names six captain's picks in the week commencing Monday, Aug. 30, 2027.
