Why these picks are different

Ranked by projected value

Chad scores every bet on the slate and orders the board by edge, so the plays with the most value against the market sit at the top — not whichever game is the biggest TV draw.

Every pick shows its work

Each pick carries an edge percentage, a confidence rating, and the stats, odds, and matchup data behind it. You see why a play qualified before you decide whether to back it.

Graded against the real result

Chad logs every pick and grades it once the game settles, so the record is tracked in the open by sport, bet type, and confidence tier.

What edge and confidence actually mean

Every Stat Sniper pick carries two numbers. They look similar and they are not — they answer completely different questions, and reading them together is most of the skill.

Edge %

Edge is how much better Chad thinks your odds are than the price you are being offered. Chad projects a win probability for the bet, converts the sportsbook's odds into their implied probability, strips out the vig so both numbers are on the same footing, and subtracts. What is left is the edge.

Confidence

Confidence is how strongly Chad trusts its own projection — driven by data quality, sample size, and how stable the inputs are. It says nothing about the price. A pick can be high-confidence and still be a poor bet if the market has already priced it in.

A worked example

  1. Chad projects the Over to hit 58% of the time.
  2. The sportsbook is offering -130, which implies 56.5%.
  3. Strip the vig out of that line and the market's true number is 54%.
  4. 58% − 54% = a 4% edge.

So a pick labelled "12.0% Edge" means Chad believes the real chance of that outcome is 12 percentage points higher than the market is pricing it. That is a large edge. As a rule of thumb Chad wants roughly 3%+ on game lines and 4%+ on player props before a bet earns a place on the board.

Reading the two together

Edge asks "is this price wrong?" Confidence asks "how sure are we?" They move independently. A heavy favorite can be a high-confidence projection with no edge at all, because the market already knows it is a heavy favorite. The bets worth your attention are the ones where a solid confidence rating meets a real edge.

Edge is always measured against a specific price, so a worse number at your book shrinks it — and a bad enough number erases it. Line shopping is what protects the edge you are actually betting.
